The short version
Yin Yang Launcher is built around using your phone less. The same principle applies to data: collect as little as possible, explain what's collected plainly, and never use it to track behavior outside this app.

Precise (GPS) location
IP addresses (used briefly for country lookup, then discarded)
Contents of notes or reminders
Contacts, photos, or files
Yin Yang Launcher does not sell or share user data with any third party for advertising. Any future addition to data collection will be opt-in and clearly disclosed.
What is collected with a Pro subscription
A Pro subscription requires signing in with a Google account. The following is collected only after sign-in: display name and email from the Google account, a user ID that links the subscription across devices, and purchase history (only the fact that Pro was purchased and when). Payment card details are handled entirely by Google Play and never reach this app.
What is collected when analytics is enabled
Analytics can be turned on or off at any time in Settings → Connect & support → Share error & usage reports. When enabled, the following is collected: in-app screen and feature usage, crash diagnostics, Android version and device model, approximate country (derived from IP, which is then discarded), and a random per-install identifier used only for unique-user counts.

Who we are
This privacy policy applies to the Yin Yang Launcher Android app (com.yinyang.launcher), operated by Rolet Oliver Fernandes, an individual sole proprietor based in India.
For the purposes of GDPR, UK GDPR, and equivalent data protection laws, the Service Provider acts as the Data Controller. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Service Provider acts as the Data Fiduciary.

How we use this data
Personal Data collected through the App is used solely for app functionality, account management for Pro subscribers, analytics and crash diagnostics (only when enabled by the user), and compliance with legal obligations.
Personal Data is not used for targeted advertising, profiling, sale to third parties, or marketing communications other than transactional messages related to a Pro Subscription.
Third-party processors
The following process Personal Data on our behalf, only on documented instructions, and never for their own purposes:
- Google Play Services (Google LLC, US) — required Android platform services
- Firebase Analytics (Google LLC, US) — usage analytics, only when enabled
- Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC, US) — crash reporting, only when enabled
- Firebase Authentication (Google LLC, US) — Google sign-in for Pro
- PostHog (PostHog Inc., US Cloud) — product analytics, only when enabled
- RevenueCat (RevenueCat Inc., US) — subscription management
- Google Play Billing (Google LLC, US) — payment processing (handled entirely by Google; no card data reaches the App)
Each processor has its own privacy policy.
IP addresses
We do not retain IP addresses in our own systems. PostHog is configured to discard IPs on receipt. Firebase Analytics automatically anonymises IPs. RevenueCat may briefly process IPs to detect fraudulent purchases.
International data transfers
Some of our processors operate outside the EU/UK and India. Where Personal Data is transferred internationally, the transfer is made under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where applicable, and Standard Contractual Clauses otherwise. A copy of the relevant safeguards is available on request.
Data retention
Personal Data is retained only for as long as needed. Analytics events are retained for up to 14 months (subject to processor configuration) and then automatically deleted. Crash diagnostics are retained for 90 days. Subscription account data (name, email, user ID) is retained while a Pro Subscription is active, plus 30 days after deletion for billing reconciliation. Transaction records used for tax and accounting compliance are retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax law.

These rights apply regardless of your jurisdiction. If you are in California, you also have the right to opt out of "sale" of Personal Data; we do not sell data, so this is automatic. If you are in India, you have the rights granted to Data Principals under the DPDP Act, including grievance redressal (see below).

You can also stop most data collection immediately by turning off the analytics toggle, signing out of your Pro Subscription, or uninstalling the App.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit using standard secure connections. We rely on the security practices of our processors for storage; the Service Provider does not maintain its own server infrastructure.
Children
The App is not directed at children under 13. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Where required by law, renewed consent will be obtained for any new data collection that requires it.
